AceShowbiz - George Clooney and his wife Amal were greeted by Pope Francis when they visited Vatican City to attend the pontiff's Muro o Un Ponte Seminary at Paul VI Hall on Sunday, May 29. The couple looked radiant as they're all smiles while handshaking with the religious leader.
At the event, George was awarded a medal for his work with Scholas Occurrentes, the pope's arts foundation which connects technology with arts and sports, according to its website. The "Money Monster" actor, along with Salma Hayek and Richard Gere, will also serve as ambassadors for one of the foundation's projects.
Amal looked elegant in an Atelier Versace lace dress which she teamed with a black turban hat and Jimmy Choo nude heels. Meanwhile, George opted for a dapper look wearing a black suit under a white shirt complete with a matching striped tie.
On the previous day, George and Amal were spotted having a romantic dinner date at celebrity hotspot Dal Bolognese in Rome. They were photographed walking hand in hand after the dinner, looking so happy while sporting ear-to-ear smiles. The human rights lawyer stunned in a plunging black dress which she teamed with pointed heels and a black sheer cape. Meanwhile, George rocked a gray blazer atop a matching shirt.
