Enterprise Gets Attacked in New 'Star Trek Beyond' Trailer

The latest trailer was debuted at a special Star Trek fan event, during which it was also announced that the film would receive its world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.

AceShowbiz - Two months before "Star Trek Beyond" hits theaters across the country, Paramount keeps the anticipation high by releasing another trailer for the movie. Debuted as part of a special Star Trek fan event held in Los Angeles Friday afternoon, May 20, the new video offers glimpses of a group of aliens attacking the U.S.S. Enterpise, forcing the crew to abandon the ship.

The film will feature returning cast members like Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and John Cho. Idris Elba joined the cast to depict the villainous Krall.

Justin Lin is directing based on a script he co-wrote with Pegg and Doug Jung. J.J. Abrams, who directed the previous two "Star Trek" films, is producing.

"Star Trek Beyond" is set to hit the big screen July 22, two months before the Star Trek franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary. However, it will first have its world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20, during the world's very first outdoor IMAX screening which will also include a live orchestra.
