'Nashville' May Not Be Dead Just Yet as It's Being Shopped Around

Lionsgate television group chairman Kevin Beggs confirms that they're still looking for a new home for the country music drama which was recently canceled by ABC.

AceShowbiz - "Nashville" is not completely dead just yet. While ABC has officially canceled the music drama series, Lionsgate which produces the series is still trying to save it by actively looking for a new home for it.

Deadline first reported that Lionsgate TV and ABC Studios would shop it to other networks and it has now been confirmed with an email from Lionsgate television group chairman Kevin Beggs to employees. "We're looking for a new home, we never give up on a great show," so he wrote.

Hulu is said to be a potential new home for "Nashville" since it already has a relationship with the studio. Ed Amatrudo, who has a recurring role as Juliette's manager Glenn, is optimistic that the show would live on. He tweeted on Friday, May 13, "Visualize the 'NASHVILLE' pickup party! It can happen! Talk about pure insanity! HULU, CMT, here's your opening! Go! #BringBackNashville."

Meanwhile, other stars took to social media to express their sadness over the show's cancellation. Charles Esten who plays Deacon wrote, "So grateful to so many for the dream that has been #Nashville. Not always easy to be Deacon. But to play him? An absolute joy and an honor."

Aubrey Peeples tweeted, "I'm so thankful I was a part of a special show." She additionally hinted that ABC didn't treat the show fairly. "I wish it was handled with more care. thank you to every fan who kept us going #Nashville," she wrote.

Series creator Callie Khouri added, "With a heavy heart, I thank all our incredible fans for all of your love, huge thanks to the city of Nashville. See you on down the road."
