Joe Jonas' band DNCE kicks off the results show with a performance of their singles 'Toothbrush' and 'Cake by the Ocean'.

AceShowbiz - And it's down to nine on "The Voice" season 10. Ten singers performed on Monday night, but only nine who were voted through on the Tuesday, May 3 results show. The night was kicked off with a performance by Joe Jonas' band DNCE who sang their singles "Toothbrush" and "Cake by the Ocean" off their debut album "SWAAY".

In between announcing the Top 9, host Carson Daly chatted with the contestants and the coaches. Asked if she's confident all of her singers would advance, Christina Aguilera said, "As a coach, I think they all for sure, hands down deserve to make it through," adding that she isn't one to count her chickens before they hatch.

Alisan Porter from Team Christina was the first to be announced safe, followed by Team Blake Shelton's Adam Wakefield and Team Adam Levine's Shalyah Fearing. The next results were revealed after a performance by "The Voice" season 8 winner Sawyer Fredericks.

Team Pharrell Williams' Hannah Huston and Team Blake's Mary Sarah advanced, and so did Team Adam's Laith Al-Saadi, Team Christina's Bryan Bautista and Team Blake's Paxton Ingram. That meant Nick Hagelin from Team Christina and Daniel Passino from Team Pharrell were in jeopardy.

The bottom two sang for the instant save. Nick was up first, singing "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. He seemed to be having some pitch issues, but his performance captivated the audience. Christina said, "You're in it for the right reasons."

Daniel went with "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars. His vocals were stronger than Nick's, making it harder for viewers to choose. Pharrell told him that no matter the outcome, as his coach, he's proud of what he has accomplished this season.

Nick eventually won the instant save, so he moves forward along with eight other contestants. This means only one singer (Hannah Huston) is left to represent Team Pharrell in the competition.

Next week on Monday, Blake Shelton and his girlfriend/season 9's coach Gwen Stefani are going to perform their duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" for the first time on the show.
