'Dancing with the Stars' Recap: Ginger Zee and Paige VanZant Soar as Two Pairs Are Eliminated
TV

Ginger and Paige earn a perfect score each for their individual routine, but Nyle DiMarco tops the leaderboard with a combination of scores for his foxtrot and team freestyle.

AceShowbiz - Not just one, but two pairs were cut on "Dancing with the Stars" Monday, May 2. But before the results from last week's voting were announced, the eight remaining couples performed individual routines and team dances to popular music from favorite musical icons.

Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe danced a quickstep to Stevie Wonder's "For Once in My Life". Len Goodman loved the commitment and energy in the dance though he noticed that Jodie lost body contact. Carrie Ann Inaba agreed that the body contact "was a bit off," but Bruno Tonioli said she's "going in the right direction." The actress earned 26 out of 30 points.

Kim Fields and Sasha Farber performed next, dancing a samba to Jackson 5's "ABC". She got her first 9s for a score of 27 as Bruno said she was "glowing" and "electrifying." Len praised the creativity although the dance was simple and called it Kim's best dance.

Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd danced a foxtrot to U2's "Beautiful Day". After Len warned him about being cocky last week, Peta wanted to highlight the model's technical abilities. The result was a passionate and elegant dance. Carrie Ann called it wonderful and Bruno loved his dedication to the dance, but Len was critical about his bum sticking out. Nyle earned 28 points.

Antonio Brown and Sharna Burgess danced a tango to The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black". The judges loved the spirit but they couldn't help noticing his mistakes. "This week your speed was your enemy in your dance. You need to get the technique down and finish your moves. You need to finish the movements, that is what is lacking," Carrie Ann commented. The NFL star earned 24 points.

Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold danced a foxtrot to "I Say a Little Prayer" by Aretha Franklin. Bruno had nothing but good words as he found it "lovey dovey." Carrie Ann said he's in the game, but it wasn't that exciting. The Boyz II Men member earned 27 points.

Ginger Zee and Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced a Viennese waltz to Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing". It was a classy and elegant routine which fit her perfectly. "That was incredible, it was powerful, it was elegant, it was perfection," Carrie Ann gushed, as Bruno called it her best dance yet. Ginger earned a perfect score of 30.

Performing after Ginger didn't help Von Miller who still lacked techniques. His salsa to Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation" with Witney Carson was described as "a bit crusty on the base but tasty on top" by Len. The judges scored the dance 24.

Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas delivered another best dance of the night with their jive to Tina Turner's "Proud Mary". Bruno said, "Smoldering, scorching.. from a technical point of view, it was so tightly packed, it was so difficult and you were up with Mark all the time, amazing." Paige earned 30 points and she deserved it.

Next, it was time for the team round. The men were up first with Wanye, Nyle, Von and Antonio dancing together. Wanya missed the second rehearsal and Von was clearly the weak link, but they overcame the difficulties and managed to be all in sync. The judges praised their teamwork and scored the dance 28.

The ladies, on the other hand, were losing sync several times. Carrie Ann appreciated it that they challenged themselves with difficult choreography. Jodie, Kim, Ginger and Paige each got 25 points added to their scores from individual routines.

Later, the results were announced and the two pairs who became the victims of the double elimination were Kim & Sasha and Von & Witney. Wanya and Lindsey were also in jeopardy, but they're safe.
