AceShowbiz - Kate Upton is happily engaged and she let the world know at the 2016 Met Gala. The 23-year-old actress was seen with a huge diamond ring when walking the red carpet of the prestigious fundraising event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 2 in New York City.
Upton confirmed her engagement to longtime boyfriend Justin Verlander during an interview with E! News. "I'm really excited, he asked me right before season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while," she told the news outlet. "So I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world!"
Verlander, a Detroit Tigers pitcher, designed the ring himself. The couple, who has been dating for three years before the engagement, is in no rush to start planning the wedding. "We are enjoying the engagement period," she said.
Upton was wearing a custom Topshop glittering silver gown at the gala. She embodied the old Hollywood style as she put her blond locks in huge waves. The "Tower Heist" star finished off her look with metallic heels and gold clutch.
