'Jungle Book' Stays on Top at Box Office With 42.4M, 'Civil War' Opens to Huge $200.2M Overseas

The live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's Mowgli stories has made $252.1 million since opening last month, while the third installment of 'Captain America' is expected to open huge next week.

The live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's Mowgli stories racked up $42.4 million, topping box office for the third straight week in a row. While "Civil War" doesn't open domestically until May 6, it opened to huge $200.2 million overseas.

According to Box Office Mojo, "Jungle Book" only dropped 31|percent| in its third weekend. The movie, starring Neel Sethi, earned just over $252 million domestically and $684.7 million worldwide, from a hefty $175 million budget.

"The Huntsman: Winter's War" stayed in second place with $9.39 million, dropping 51.7|percent| from its first weekend. "Keanu", starring Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key nabbed third place with $9.3 million. Julia Roberts' "Mother's Day" opened in fourth place with $8.3 million, while "Barbershop: The Next Cut" landed in fifth place with $6.1 million.

This whole weekend is really just a throat clearing for the next week debut of "Captain America: Civil War". The third installment of "Captain America" film series has been projected to take in between $175 million and $200 million in its opening weekend domestically.
