'Creative differences' force the director to exit the comic book adaptation but he will still be involved in another capacity.

AceShowbiz - The long-gestating "The Flash" movie has just experienced a major setback. The comic book adaptation loses its director as Seth Grahame-Smith decided to quit out of "creative differences".
According to THR, the Warner Bros. project will still use Grahame-Smith's script which was written off an earlier treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. "The Lego Movie" duo were once touted to direct the "Flash" movie but they were pretty occupied with "The Lego Batman Movie" and "The Lego Movie Sequel" coming in February 2017 and May 2018 respectively. They have also opted to direct a Han Solo standalone "Star Wars" movie instead.
Grahame-Smith signed the directing deal in October. Although he directed episodes of MTV's "The Hard Times of RJ Berger", "The Flash" would have been his first experience as director of a feature film.
There is still plenty of time to find a new director because filming is likely to begin only next year. The film, starring Ezra Miller in the titular role, has nabbed a March 3, 2018 release date. The character made a cameo in last month's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".
