Asked by Andy Cohen about reports that he's a candidate to replace Michael Strahan, Cooper says, 'It would be a dream to work with Kelly.'

AceShowbiz - Anderson Cooper has addressed rumors that he's the frontrunner to replace Michael Strahan on "Live!". Stopping by Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live" on Thursday, April 28, he was asked by a caller if he would be interested in joining the daytime talk show as Kelly Ripa's new co-host.

"Listen, I love Kelly and I think Kelly is the heart and soul of that show, and it's gonna go on and continue to be great," Cooper diplomatically answered. But Cohen wasn't satisfied with the answer and further pressed the CNN anchor.

"Look, I'm very happy at CNN," the "Anderson Cooper 360" host carefully answered the question. "It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody's offering anything."

Cohen, Cooper, Seth Meyers and Josh Groban are reportedly set to fill in as guest co-hosts. Cohen himself was rumored as a potential candidate to replace Strahan, but the Bravo star has debunked it, telling Us Weekly, "I've kind of said everything I had to say about it. I have 10 jobs! I have my own late-night talk show that's on every night at 11 o'clock!"

Neil Patrick Harris is another name mentioned as a possible new "Live!" co-host. A production source tells ET, "Producers loved Neil Patrick Harris when they were looking before. He was a frontrunner, and he has less going on now than he did three years ago during the search that ended with Michael getting the gig."
