'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Set Photos Reveal Nathan Fillion's Secret Role
Movie

It is assumed that the actor will play Simon Williams or Wonder Man who used his superpowers to star in Hollywood movies.

AceShowbiz - Though he was part of 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy", Nathan Fillion was not physically recognizable in the box office hit. He will be now in the film's sequel.

It has just been reported that Fillion will star in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as one of classic superheroes in Marvel universe. Some set photos taken outside Atlanta suggested that he's playing Simon Williams aka Wonder Man who gives up the superhero game for a career in Hollywood.

As seen in the fan pictures, some fake movie posters outside a theater on Main Street revealed the "Simon Williams Film Festival". One of the artworks is for a biopic of Tony Stark, so it's safe to assume that the set was used to represent quite a current era. And it's also safe to say that some scenes from the future movie will take place on Earth.

From the look of a local Georgian's video, one scene included people running away from something that came crashing down. Perhaps it was a space craft that landed hard on Earth, signaling the return of Peter Quill to his birth planet.

Fillion and director James Gunn's history went all the way back to 2006's horror "Slither". They went on working on 2010's dramedy "Super" and later the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film where Fillion voiced a blue alien. The second installment is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017.
