Liam Neeson's Tree Comes to Life in 'A Monster Calls' First Trailer
Movie

The actor did a motion capture and voice of a monster that a 12-year-old boy calls in the lowest point of his life.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer to Juan Antonio Bayona's "A Monster Calls" digs deeper on what kind of creature is mentioned in the title. Voiced and motion-captured by Liam Neeson, the so-called monster is a huge tree that has been standing for thousands of years.

Based on the award-winning children's fantasy novel, the pic follows 12-year-old Conor's attempts to deal with his mother's illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss and faith.

A teaser was released in November last year, focusing on Conor's problems and how the tree entered his life. The tree was telling Connor a story about "the invisible one." This newly-released trailer begins with the tree's revelation that it knows Connor very well even his deepest desire. It continues with how the tree comes to life and how it plays a significant role in Connor's life.

Newcomer Lewis MacDougall portrays the lead star while Felicity Jones plays the mother. Sigourney Weaver is also a star in the October 14 film, playing the maternal grandmother.
