The God of Thunder is expected to romance a new character who will be played by the 'Dear White People' actress.

AceShowbiz - "Thor: Ragnarok" is adding another new member. Tessa Thompson is set to join the third "Thor" movie. She is rumored to play a new love interest for Chris Hemsworth's character. The hero romanced Natalie Portman's Jane Foster in the previous films.

The name of Thompson's role is still under wraps, but according to a scoop from Deadline, her character may have superpowers. She is expected to appear in other movies in Marvel Cinematic Universe after getting introduced in the third installment of the God of Thunder flick.

The third film will be directed by Taika Waititi. Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander and Mark Ruffalo will reprise their respective roles as Loki, Lady Sif and Hulk. They are joined by Cate Blanchett who is added as Hela. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters across the United States starting November 3, 2017.

Tessa Thompson has starred in movies like "Dear White People", "Selma" and "Creed". She is also a regular on HBO's drama series "Westworld". She will next share screen with Natalie Portman in "Annihilation".
