AceShowbiz - Kate Hudson has opened up about her struggle to be a good mother to her sons Ryder and Bingham. The "Rock the Kasbah" actress has written an essay titled "Sometimes I Feel Like a Bad Mom" for InStyle magazine and explains how hard it is to be a working single mother of two.
The 36-year-old actress admits that she has a strange bond with Ryder, her son with ex-husband Chris Robinson, because she was so young at the time she gave birth to him. "I was really young, like, 23, when I had Ryder. So, our relationship has always been [a little unusual]. I mean, we're close, and I am his mom. I'm big on manners. I'm big on politeness. I'm big on gratitude. But I'm a bit of a wild mom," she says.
Kate says that she loves to spend her time with her little ones, help them with their homeworks and listen to their ideas, but at one point she just needs time for herself. She also admits that sometimes she hides from her children, though she stresses that it's painful to be away from the boys for any period of time.
"Some days I feel like I should win best mom of the day award, and some days I find myself doing strange things that don't have any real purpose, in faraway corners in my house, and I realize I am literally and deliberately hiding from my children," she says in her essay.
However, Kate says she doesn't regret being busy with her current job. "I wouldn't be the best mom I could be if I didn't follow my creative endeavors. I would feel an emptiness that would be felt in our home. So a stay-at-home mom will never be my life and that will never be my kids' experience of me," she explains.
Most recently, the actress enjoyed a snowy vacation with her two sons, brother Oliver Hudson and friend Sara Foster in Aspen, Colorado. On Wednesday, April 6, Kate posted a photo from her trip which showed herself and her gang ditching their shirts despite the cold weather.
In the photo, Kate wears a gray sports bra with a black jacket wrapped around her waist. She looks so excited as she's all smiles while lifting her ski poles up in the air. "Skis on, shirts off!#SpringSki," she captioned the snap.
