First Trailer of 'The BFG' Shows the Giant's Face and Incredible Images
Movie

Based on Roald Dahl's classic story, the film follows an orphan girl's journey into discovering the world of giants.

AceShowbiz - Steven Spielberg shows incredible imagery in the first full trailer of "The BFG" that makes the titular character, the Big Friendly Giant, look genuinely enchanting. While the teaser trailer released in December last year showed how the story started, this one reveals the long journey 10-year-old Sophie must take after visiting Giant Country.

The first 45 seconds of the trailer recounts how Sophie is snatched from the orphanage. Carried inside a cloth, Sophie witnesses how the giant amazingly manages to hide from human despite his size. Once in the giant's world, the girl learns how things work with children's dreams and why she is taken.

The giant is a motion capture character bearing the soulful face of actor Mark Rylance who worked with Spielberg in "Bridge of Spies". Bill Hader and Jemaine Clement portray the other giants that are twice as big and twice as scary as Rylance's. Relatively new actress Ruby Barnhill portrays Sophie. The film also stars Penelope Wilton as the Queen of England and Rebecca Hall as her maid Mary.

"The BFG" will hit U.S. theaters July 1, two months before Roald Dahl's 100th birthday. The movie is based on Dahl's children's book of the same title.
