Due to financial issues, this year's ceremony won't be televised but will possibly be streamed on the web.

AceShowbiz - This year's Daytime Emmy Awards nominations list is dominated by CBS' "The Young and the Restless" and ABC's "General Hospital". However, fans won't be able to watch the shows and the cast receiving their nods because for the second time in the past three years the ceremony won't be televised.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has canceled the telecast due to budget issues. The organization felt like the six-figure cost to produce a ceremony fit for TV was too high even after cabler Pop offered a license fee. Nevertheless, there's a talk about arranging another live webcast like in 2014.

"After months of negotiations to find show sponsorship, the NATAS executive board has decided that the current climate for awards shows prohibits the possibility of a telecast this year," NATAS president Bob Mauro said. "With that said, we will be putting on a world-class awards celebration honoring the best and brightest of Daytime television and look forward to an exciting show. All efforts regarding returning the annual gala to television in 2017 are under way."

The ceremony will be held on May 1 at the Westin Bonaventure hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the Creative Arts winners will be awarded two days prior at the Bonaventure. "Young and Restless" is leading the pack with 27 nods while "General Hospital" comes second with 24 nominations.
