Movie

The stop-motion movie, based on Adamson's Black List-topping script, will tell the story of Jackson's life from the perspective of his chimp, who became his frequent companion in 1980s.

AceShowbiz - Michael Jackson's pet chimpanzee Bubbles is heading to the big screen. Deadline reports that the chimp will be the center of a stop-motion animated film aptly titled "Bubbles", which will be produced by "Community" creator Dan Harmon and his Starburns Industries.

Adapted from Isaac Adamson's Black List-topping script that has just been acquired by Andrew Kortschak's End Cue, the film tells the story of "Michael Jackson's life and history from the perspective of the pet chimp."

Deadline notes that Bubbles "got a close-up view after being adopted by Jackson from an Austin, Texas research facility and given residence at the Neverland Ranch in 1983." The chimp was the late King of Pop's frequent companion until he became overaggressive and was moved to a monkey sanctuary in Florida.

So far, the film has no director or actors attached to. Harmon is co-producing with Kortschak while Adamson and Lee Stobby serve as executive producers.

Harmon previously executive produced the stop-motion film "Anomalisa", which was nominated for Best Animated Film at the 2016 Oscars.
