The 'Superbad' co-stars are announced to team up with 'True Detective' helmer Cary Fukunaga for a new television series.

AceShowbiz - Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are heading to television. The Hollywood Reporter learns that the "Superbad" co-stars are set to reunite on screen for a dark comedy series titled "Maniac" which will be directed by "Beasts of No Nation" helmer Cary Fukunaga.

Hailing from Paramount TV and Anonymous Content, the show is based on a 2014 Norwegian series of the same name about a mental institution patient who lives in a fantasy world in his brain. The project is reportedly being shopped around with the goal for a straight-to-series pickup and a potential two-season order.

Fukunaga is expected to helm every episode of "Maniac", just like what he did in the first installment of "True Detective". On top of that, the Emmy-winning director will serve as a producer for the new TV series along with "The Wolf of Wall Street" actor Hill and "Birdman" actress Stone.
