Jake (Asa Butterfield) meets children with special powers, tries to discover his own 'peculiarity' and finds out his true destiny in the sneak peek for the fantasy pic.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is finally here. From the creative mind of Tim Burton, the movie is an adaptation of Ransom Rigg's novel of the same name and brings the fictional place and characters to life.

The trailer takes us to the titular orphanage, which Jake (Asa Butterfield) discovers while on a trip to Wales. It introduces some of the peculiar children and teases Jake's friendship with Emma (Ella Purnell).

"Because our abilities don't fit in the outside world, we live in places like this, where no one can find us," says Miss Peregrine (Eva Green), who protects her charges from hungry monsters known as hollows. But Miss Peregrine is about to hand over the duty to Jake, believing that he's destined for it and urging him to find out his own "peculiarity."

The video also offers a glimpse of the monster that threatens the residents of the orphanage.

Also starring Judi Dench, Lauren McCrostie, Pixie Davies, Cameron King, Thomas Odwell and Joseph Odwell, "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is set to open in theaters across the nation on September 30.
