The disgraced son of the '19 Kids and Counting' family has spent half a year at a 'residential rehabilitation program' in Illinois.

AceShowbiz - Josh Duggar has checked out of rehab after last year's family drama that led to the cancellation of the family's show "19 Kids and Counting". The family's oldest son is back home in Arkansas after spending six months at a faith-based treatment facility Reformers Unanimous in Rockford, Illinois.

"Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program," the controversial family announces on their official blog. "We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh."

"Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional counseling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead."

Although their original show was axed, a spinoff has been made and is due to premiere on TLC soon. "Jill & Jessa: Counting On" focuses on two of the daughters. A press release from the show claims, "The Duggar family is on its way to finding a new normal."

The family was under public scrutiny after it was revealed that Josh molested his sisters several times when he was a teen. His parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were slammed for covering up the incidents. The family received another wave of criticisms after news broke out that Josh, married with four kids, signed up to cheating website Ashley Madison.
