The sportscaster thanks people in Nashville and the jury for the support after winning the case against Michael David Barrett and Marriott Nashville.

AceShowbiz - Erin Andrews came out a winner in the peeping tom case, being awarded $55 million out of the $75 million she's seeking from Marriott hotel in Nashville. The jury deliberated the decision on Monday, March 7 morning following an emotional week-long trial.

"I would like to thank the Nashville court, the court personnel and the jury for their service," Andrews released a statement after the deliberations. "The support I've received from the people of Nashville has been overwhelming. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and legal team. I've been honored by all the support from victims around the world. Their outreach has helped me be able to stand up and hold accountable those whose job it is to protect everyone's safety, security and privacy."

Michael David Barrett who filmed Andrews nude through a hotel room's peeping hole was found to be 51 percent at fault and was required to pay more than $28 million. West End Hotel Partners, which owns the Marriott franchise at Vanderbilt University, was 49 percent at fault and told to pay more than $26 million.

Andrews argued in her lawsuit, filed in October 2015, that Nashville Marriott workers helped facilitate Barrett's videotaping in 2008 by revealing that she was a guest at the hotel, telling him her room number, and complying to Barrett's request to be placed in the room next door to her.

After the trial, hotel attorney Marc Deadman said, "We are disappointed with the outcome. We are surprised by the outcome, but the jury made their decision based on many factors. We are obviously disappointed by the outcome. ...We think we presented a very good case." Deadman was not sure yet whether they would file an appeal.
