The scandalous former reality show star turned 28 on Thursday, March 3 and his parents believe his better days are ahead.

AceShowbiz - Josh Duggar's parents were still very much aching from the family's scandal but they prayed for better days. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar posted a heartfelt message for their eldest son on his 28th birthday.

"Today is our son Josh's birthday," the Duggars wrote on Facebook on Thursday, March 3. "The heartache of the past year cannot surpass the joy 28 years ago on this day when we first became parents! We love you Josh and believe your best days can be ahead of you. We continue to pray for your every day."

Josh has been seeking treatment at Reformers Unanimous in Rockford, Illinois since August 2015, shortly after confessing to pornography addiction and infidelity. His squeaky clean reputation was quickly gone after his name was linked to the controversial Ashley Madison website. Porn stars also came forward with the claim that they had sex with Josh.

In addition to the extra marital affairs, it was revealed that Josh had molested young girls including his sisters when he was younger. The parents reportedly knew about this problem but tried to conceal it from public.

Josh is married to Anna who bears his four children. In December last year, she broke her silence regarding the affair, saying, "It was definitely a hard thing, and I think it was such a betrayal for a spouse to go through what we're walking through - and ...it was hard."
