The British crooner says he doesn't like the song off his 2014 debut album days after he called his performance at the 2016 Oscars the 'worst moment of [his] life.'

AceShowbiz - Who knew Sam Smith could hate a lot of things? Days after admitting he's not a fan of his own Oscar performance, the Brit revealed while discussing his upcoming second album with The Associated Press (via Billboard) that he actually disliked "Money on My Mind" off his breakthrough debut set, "In the Lonely Hour".

"There's a few songs I really (expletive) hate, but then the core of the album, songs like 'Stay With Me', 'I'm Not the Only One' - actually all the songs except 'Money on My Mind' - I really love and I'm really proud of the classic-ness of the way they sound, because I still listen to them now and I still love them," he said.

Smith also opened up about the pressure to make a dance record after he worked with Disclosure on the EDM duo's 2012 hit "Latch". "As soon as 'Latch' had a lot of success in (the) U.K., my label and me had a little bit of a panic. We were like, 'Maybe we should be doing dance?' " he shared.

In the end, he didn't do dance music, but he still could feel its presence on the album. "There's two or three songs where I can hear the little wobble, but the rest of the album is what I set out to make from the beginning," he continued.

The 2014 record was a critical and commercial success in both the U.S. and the U.K. It's been certified multi-Platinum and won the 23-year-old singer four Grammy Awards, including the Song and Record of the Year Awards for its hit single "Stay With Me".

The LP's follow-up is currently still in the works and has no official release date, but Smith's already sure that it would be his best album yet. "It's great," he told Billboard. "It's really deep (stuff) that's coming out - that's all I'll say."

"Every day I'm having little epiphanies and changes and loving it. But all I can say is that I'm putting my heart even more out on the line. I'm going even deeper. I can't believe I'm even doing it, but I'm going even deeper," he added.
