'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Gets Premiere Date. Find Out Who's Returning

Terrence Howard and Hope Davis are among season 1's stars who will return for the second season, which has cast Jason Patric and Djimon Hounsou as new series regulars.

AceShowbiz - Are you ready to return to "Wayward Pines"? The critically-acclaimed series from executive producer M. Night Shyamalan has a got return date. The 10-episode season 2 is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, May 25 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on FOX.

A press release has also revealed the official cast line-up for the second installment. Joining new cast members Jason Patric and Djimon Hounsou as series regulars are season 1's Hope Davis and Tom Stevens who reprise their roles as Wayward Pines Academy principal Megan Fisher and First Generation member Jason Higgins respectively.

Nimrat Kaur joins the cast as Dr. Theo Yedlin's (Patric) wife, Josh Helman stars as Xander, a resident working to undermine Wayward Pines from within, and Kacey Rohl portrays lieutenant Kerry.

Additionally, a slew other stars from season 1 will make appearances in a limited capacity. They are Terrence Howard (sheriff Arnold Pope), Carla Gugino (Kate Hewson), Toby Jones (Dr. Jenkins/David Pilcher), Melissa Leo (Nurse Pam), Tim Griffin (Adam Hassler), Shannyn Sossamon (Theresa Burke) and Charlie Tahan (Ben Burke).

The second season will pick up after the shocking events of season one, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. Theo Yedlin, a new resident of Wayward Pines, awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race.

Hounsou will play CJ Mitchum, a philosophical town historian who will make a decision that impacts the fate of Wayward Pines and its denizens.
