Vikander wins for her role in 'The Danish Girl', while 'Mad Max: Fury Road' takes home prizes for Best Production Design as well as Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

AceShowbiz - Alicia Vikander has just won her first Oscar. The actress, who had won an SAG Award earlier this year, nabbed the prize for Best Supporting Actress for her critically acclaimed performance as Gerda Wegener in "The Danish Girl".

Rocking a yellow Louis Vuitton dress, the Swedish actress and dancer thanked her co-star Eddie Redmayne "for being the best acting partner" in her acceptance speech. She added, "I couldn't have done it without you, you raised my game."

She also thanked her parents, saying, "Thank you for giving me the belief that anything can happen, even though I would never believe this."

"Mad Max: Fury Road", meanwhile, has scored two wins. The post-apocalyptic action film grabbed the Oscars for Best Production Design as well as Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Colin Gibson and Lisa Thompson were credited in the former category. Lesley Vanderwalt, Elka Wardega and Damian Martin were in the makeup and hairstyling team of the movie.
