The transgender star and her new beau were reportedly 'dancing and kissing' at the Weinstein Company/Netflix SAG Awards afterparty.

AceShowbiz - Laverne Cox has a new boyfriend. According to Us Weekly, the "Orange Is the New Black" star is dating Canadian producer Jono Freedrix. On January 30, the two were seen together at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles, where Cox and her "OITNB" co-stars took home the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
After the event, the two were spotted packing on the PDA as they attended the Weinstein Company/Netflix afterparty at Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood. The site's source said that Cox wasn't shy to show her closeness to her new beau and they were reportedly "dancing and kissing" during the party. The source also claimed that Freedrix "playfully slapped her ass" at one point in the night.
Jono is the president of The Virtual Stage film and theater company based in Vancouver. He is also a former high school drama teacher who previously ran an award-winning filmmaking group called Killarney Films. He once worked with Cox's co-stars, Joel Marsh Garland and Pat Squire, on his short film about breast feeding entitled "Sucklepump".
It's unclear how long Cox and Freedrix have been dating, but it seems like the two have known each other for a long time. They were photographed together at the 2014 Emmys and Freedrix recently uploaded on his Instagram account a photo of himself with Cox and Eddie Redmayne to promote the producer's new project "Bloody Mary".
