Lamar leads this year's list with 11 nods including Album of the Year for 'To Pimp a Butterfly' and Song of the Year for 'Alright'.

AceShowbiz - Those contending for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Monday, December 7. Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys appeared on "CBS This Morning" to reveal the musicians competing in the four coveted categories; Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist.
Taylor Swift's "1989" is among those vying for the top honor of Album of the Year, battling it out with The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind the Madness", Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Butterfly", Alabama Shakes' "Sound & Color" and Chris Stapleton's "Traveller". Swift had won the category in 2010 with "Fearless" and was nominated for it in 2014 for "Red".
Lamar's name, in fact, is seen in many of the categories as he leads this year's nominees with 11 nods. He single-handedly carries the nominations of Song of the Year, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video in addition to Album of the Year. He's also nominated for his collaborations with various artists in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Dance Recording.
Swift and The Weeknd each earns seven nods. "There's a broad spectrum and certainly it shows there's been quite a bit of wonderful and excellent recordings in the last year," Recording Academy CEO Neil Portow said in an interview with The Associated Press.
The 2016 Grammy Awards will be held February 15, 2016 at Los Angeles' Staples Center and broadcast live in high-def from 8 P.M. ET. No host is announced yet. Main categories are below while the full 83 categories are available at Grammy.com.
