AceShowbiz - Does he turn bisexual? Ed Sheeran ignited rumors that he's no longer straight as he shared with his 5.4 million followers on Instagram on Thursday, November 26 a picture of him with James Blunt alongside a caption which read, "We would like to announce our engagement."
The "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker wore a long-sleeved black-and-white shirt while Blunt appeared in a black shirt topped with black suit. Both of them shook hands while sporting smiles to the camera. Being cheeky, Sheeran put his hand close to Blunt's genital part. The picture was taken on the red carpet of the 2015 ARIA Awards held at The Star in Sydney, Australia.
The picture received over 132,000 likes within 3 hours after it was posted. While Sheeran appeared to be joking in the caption, many fans seemingly believed it. Fan @serenehalawani, who approved of their coupling, wrote, "James blunt and Ed Sheehan same room... Holding hands... It's like a dream. This only happens in dreams." Another fan @colbyrinaldis also wrote, "Dreams really do come true."
Fan @liyaelias who apparently couldn't take the joke wrote, "Thought you said you weren't gay? Lie much?" Likewise, another fan @amy.sophia said, "If this is true I would be crying...I want to marry him!" Meanwhile, fan @jennastone1, who was aware that the picture was just a joke, commented, "lol at these comments cuz people think he's serious."
Back in April 2012, Sheeran took to Twitter to clarify his sexuality. "I'd just like to clear up two rumours im hearing alot. i am not gay, nor do i have a girlfriend. enjoy the music. that is all x," he wrote. Earlier this year, a source confirmed that the British singer began dating his former schoolmate Cherry Seaborn.
