'Power Rangers' NOT Introducing New Characters
Movie

Saban clarifies rumor suggesting that the 'five teenagers with attitude' will have new names.

AceShowbiz - Rumor suggesting that "Power Rangers" will introduce new characters in the upcoming big-screen adaptation is debunked. Saban took to Twitter to set the record straight, "IT'S MORPHIN TIME, Jason, Kimberly, Zack, Billy & Trini! #PowerRangersMovie, coming 2017!"

Jason is the Red Ranger to be played by Dacre Montgomery, Kimberly is Pink Ranger to be played by Naomi Scott, Zack is Black Ranger to be played by Ludi Lin, Billy is Blue Ranger to be played by RJ Cyler, and Trini is Yellow Ranger to be played by Becky G.

Directed by Dean Israelite, the film is planned by Lionsgate for a U.S. release on January 13, 2017. It follows a team of "five teenagers with attitude" who receive superpowers beyond their wildest dreams so they can defend the Earth as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
