Admitting that she's already losing roles to actresses in their 20s, the 'Les Miserables' star says she once benefited from it when she was younger and 'it's the way things are.'

AceShowbiz - Anne Hathaway admits she's getting old and it doesn't help her score a job in Hollywood. In an interview with Glamour U.K., the Academy Award-winning actress opens up about ageism and how it affects her career in movie industry.
"I can't complain about it because I benefited from it," the 32-year-old beauty tells the magazine. "When I was in my early twenties, parts would be written for women in their fifties and I would get them. And now I'm in my early thirties and I'm like, 'Why did that 24 year old get that part?' "
She adds, "I was that 24 year old once, I can't be upset about it, it's the way things are. All I can do right now is think that thankfully you have built up perhaps a little bit of cachet and can tell stories that interest you and if people go to see them you'll be allowed to make more."
Hathaway, who bares her cleavage in some photos for the magazine's spread, also talks about Taylor Swift whom she met when the pop superstar was dating Jake Gyllenhaal, her co-star in "Love and Other Drugs". She gushes, "She just seems to be following her heart. I met her ... when she and Jake were together. ... We hung out one night. I was like, 'You are a magnificent creature.' She was on fire and I've watched her become this force of nature."
Hathaway isn't the first to talk about ageism in Hollywood. Back in May, Maggie Gyllenhaal revealed she, at 37, was considered too old to portray a love interest for a 55-year-old man. Russell Crowe, meanwhile, told actresses who complained about ageist casting to start acting their age. "If you are willing to live in your own skin, you can work as an actor," he said. "If you are trying to pretend that you're still the young buck when you're my age, it just doesn't work."
