Mark Ruffalo Explains Why Hulk Is Not in 'Captain America: Civil War'

The actor who plays Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe confirms that the green monster is saved from the MCU civil war.

AceShowbiz - Hulk was initially rumored to join "Captain America: Civil War" but he was eventually sidelined from the movie. "My character had been inserted in the script, but then it was taken away. Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return," Mark Ruffalo told BadTaste.It.

"I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end ... what happened Hulk is something too big and Marvel wants to use this information later," he explaind, adding, "They want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret because it is something really big."

Directed by the Russo brothers, "Civil War" is scheduled to open in North American theaters on May 6, 2016. Chris Evans returns as Cap, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.

Anthony Mackie is also back as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Paul Bettany as Vision, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Frank Grillo as Crossbones. Meanwhile, Chadwick Boseman is added as Black Panther and Tom Holland as the new Spider-Man.
