Bill Murray Says His 'Ghostbusters' Cameo Won't 'Overshadow' the Main Cast
Movie

The 'St. Vincent' actor explains the reasons why he agreed to make a cameo appearance in the reboot, saying that he wanted to respect the director and the cast without overshadowing them.

AceShowbiz - The "Ghostbusters" veteran Bill Murray, who refused to return for a third movie, has been confirmed to make a cameo appearance in Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters (2016)". In a recent interview with Vulture about his upcoming movie "Rock the Kasbah", Murray explained the reasons why he agreed to appear in the female-centric movie.

He revealed that he apparently wanted to respect Feig and the entire cast members and didn't want to disappoint them. He believed that his appearance might influence the movie and if he declined to be involved, he's afraid that the movie might not perform well.

"It kept eating at me, and I really respect those girls. And then I started to feel like if I didn't do this movie, maybe somebody would write a bad review or something, thinking there was some sort of disapproval [on my part]," Murray explained. "I like those girls a lot. I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to. And Paul is a real nice fellow," he added.

The "Lost in Translation" actor also talked about his experience during the filming. "You know, they were incredibly nice to ask me, and I really enjoyed being there. They have such a jolly group, and they are going to have great success with this project. I didn't want to overshadow [them] or anything, and I feel really good about it," he shared.

Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones star as the members of the titular group who hunt down ghosts when they invade Manhattan. Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams and Neil Casey are also in the cast of the film which will open in U.S. theaters on July 15, 2016.
