The 'Bridesmaids' star reenacts the disgraced NAACP leader's awkward interview in which she refused to answer simple questions about her race.

AceShowbiz - Maya Rudolph is best known for her impressions of Beyonce Knowles, Donatella Versace, Oprah Winfrey and many more on "Saturday Night Live". Because she had left the variety show in 2007, people were wondering how she would've impersonated Rachel Dolezal, who sparked a controversy for pretending to be black. When stopping by "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on Monday night, June 22, she finally responded to the requests by debuting her Rachel Dolezal impersonation.

"I remember Tina [Fey] saying when Sarah Palin was [in the news], everyone kept saying, 'You gotta do Sarah Palin,' " she told host Seth Meyers. "But it happens to me every day. People are like, 'It's too bad you haven't been on 'SNL' since 2007; you have to play this lady.' And I gotta say the whole thing is very fascinating to me."

With the help of his fellow "SNL" alum Meyers, Rudolph then recreated Dolezal's awkward interview, during which she got miffed when a reporter confronted her about her race. She mimicked the disgraced NAACP leader's puzzled expressions, while wearing a curly wig.

"I think America really missed out," she said after reenacting the interview. "I'm so glad I brought my Rachel Dolezal wig. I always keep it in my purse."
