Luke Bracey Performs Extreme Sports in 'Point Break' First Official Trailer
Movie

A young FBI agent is sent to investigate a series of crimes performed by people experienced in extreme sports.

AceShowbiz - The first official trailer of action thriller movie "Point Break" has been released. It is a remake based on Kathryn Bigelow's classic starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. The trailer gives glimpses of extreme sports performance by the characters in the film.

Just like the original movie, the remake centers on a young FBI agent named Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), an extreme sportsman, who is sent to infiltrate a group of rebellious thrill-seeking elite athletes led by Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez) to investigate a series of crimes such as robbery performed by people with experience in extreme athletics.

The trailer opens with skydiving scene where huge blocks of cash are dropped from above. This scene may indicate that the persons perform the action after they rob huge amount of money. Another shot shows Utah speaking to his employer, "I believe that like me, the people behind the robbery are extreme athletes, using their skills to disrupt the international financial markets. And they don't care who gets killed in the process."

While Bigelow's story only focused on surfing, the remake expands the scope including some extreme sports such as big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling. What makes people much more curious is the ending of the trailer which captures Utah speaking to Bodhi at the top of a waterfall. "Bodhi do you have any idea how many people you've killed? How many laws you've broken?" Utah asks Bodhi. "The only law that matters is gravity," Bodhi answers as he lets himself fall from the height.

Ericson Core serves behind the lens while Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove, John Baldecchi, Chris Taylor and Kurt Wimmer produce the movie. The film also stars Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer and Delroy Lindo. The movie is slated to be released in the U.S. on December 25.

Following the release of the trailer, some fans of the original film have expressed displeasure with the remake. One of them called the trailer of the remake "god awful." Another wrote on Twitter, "The plot of the Point Break remake is to remove everything great about the original Point Break." Many fans also questioned why Warner Bros was bothering remaking the 1991 film.
