Diego Luna in Talks for 'Star Wars: Rogue One'

The 'Cesar Chavez' director is circling the role of a rebel fighter while Ben Mendelsohn is expected to play the villain.

AceShowbiz - "Star Wars: Rogue One" is adding another actor to its cast ensemble. Diego Luna is reportedly in negotiations to star in the Gareth Edwards-directed film as a rebel fighter, joining the already-confirmed cast Felicity Jones.

According to the latest scoop from Variety, Ben Mendelsohn who has been linked to the movie for a while now is tapped to take on the main baddie. Meanwhile, Riz Ahmed is expected to play another rebel fighter.

"Rogue One" will take place between "Episode III" and "Episode IV" when there is no Jedi. It will follow "a rogue band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans." It's due December 16, 2016.

Diego Luna was last seen in "Elysium" in 2013. Last year, he directed "Cesar Chavez" starring Michael Pena and voiced a character in "The Book of Life".
