TV

The show takes fans on a ride of emotional rollercoaster before paying a proper tribute to the late Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith).

AceShowbiz - "Glee" has delivered a perfect final episode that may satisfy all gleeks. The two-hour series finale on Friday, May 20 started with flashbacks to 2009 in the first hour to reveal how the characters were before they joined New Directions.

Kurt was still closeted and he nearly crossed paths with Blaine several times before they eventually met. He's a big fan of Rachel's MySpace videos and a meeting with her led Kurt to the glee club.

The show addressed the birth of Rachel and Mercedes' never-ending rivalry. There were also references to Finn (Cory Monteith) though he wasn't seen as Will revealed how he first met Finn and the kids debated over whether or not Finn deserved a place in the glee club. He eventually, of course, became an important part of the original New Directions and led the group for their performance of "Don't Stop Believin' " which was first seen at end of season 1.

The second hour began in present day, where New Directions won the Nationals. McKinley High School was then turned into a performing arts school, with Will as the new principal.

The show then flashed forward to see the characters five years from now. Sam was coaching the New Directions, one of four choir groups at the McKinley High. Rachel's married to Jesse St. James and became the surrogate mother for Kurt and Blaine's child. She also won a Tony Award.

Kurt and Blaine, meanwhile, lived happily in New York. Artie and Tina were also together and his movie got into a film festival. Mercedes opened for Beyonce Knowles' world tour, while Sue became Vice President to Jeb Bush in 2016 and 2020, and planned to run for President in 2024.

In the final moment, Sue returned to McKinley and delivered a speech in the auditorium in front of Will, Emma, Burt, Carole, Figgins and Terri to rename the auditorium the Finn Hudson Auditorium. She then introduced the New Directions with almost all of the past members returning to sing "I Lived" by OneRepublic on the stage.

The last scene captured a plaque dedicated to Finn with the quote which read, "See the world not as it is, but as it should be."
