AceShowbiz - As shooting on the upcoming flick "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur" has been kicked off, the first image of its leading actor Charlie Hunnam on the set has surfaced. The film's director Guy Ritchie shared the on-set pic of him and the film star on his Twitter and captioned it, "First day on KORT."

Based on Thomas Mallory's 1485 "Le Morte d'Arthur", "Knights of the Roundtable" is "a re-imagining of Arthurian legend. Believed to have been a 6th century King, Arthur defended Britain against Saxon invaders." Joby Harold wrote the film's script and is producing alongside Akiva Goldsman, Tory Tunnell, and Ritchie. The feature is currently scheduled for a July 22, 2016 release.

In addition to Hunnam starring as Arthur Pendragon, the movie has the likes of Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere, and Eric Bana as Uther Pendragon. It also has Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou circling major roles.
