Jackman, who is promoting his new movie 'Chappie', reacts to the news that Spider-Man is joining Marvel Cinematic Universe and talks about the chances of Wolverine joining the world.

AceShowbiz - Hugh Jackman has reacted to a hint from Patrick Stewart that Wolverine and Professor X will join forces in the new "Wolverine" movie. Jackman, who is currently doing a press junket for his latest movie "Chappie", talked about the report in a new interview with JoBlo, suggesting that the plan is not set in stone.

"I'm not going to deny it. I've learned over the years to try and put my best poker face on. By the way, play poker with me if you want to win some money, because I'm terrible. But, I've always seen it as a really important relationship, and we started with that and I think it's a really important one. I think it would be really great to see it in the Wolverine movie, because we haven't really explored it in the standalone Wolverine movies," he told the site, before adding with a joke, "So it's not not not not not going to happen."

Stewart who plays the mutant with telepathy previously shared the exciting idea of Professor Xavier joining forces with Wolverine in an interview with Oregon Live. "What I'm very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together," he said. "Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of X-Men from the four movies that I've already done."

In a separate "Chappie" interview with Screen Crush, Jackman who apparently just received the news that Spider-Man is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe was asked about the chances Wolverine appearing in Marvel movies. "That's really exciting news," he said.

However, the Australian actor seemingly does not put too much hope. "I've always loved the very basic idea of the comic book world where on the Friday night you can have a couple of beers and say to a mate, 'Oh wouldn't it be great to see Wolverine face off against Iron Man?' and bang Monday morning someone's drawing it, you know. I always thought that was cool," he explained. "I mean it's a very complicated world how rights and who buys what, at what price, when and I think it's great that they're kind of melting it. I'm sure by the time that all of that is resolved it'll be past my used by date, but you never know."

"Chappie" tells the story of the titular robot who has human-like intelligence. He lives with a scientist played by Dev Patel and is hunted by Jackman who believes that his existence is the end to mankind. Also featuring Sigourney Weaver, the sci-fi comedy arrives in the U.S. on March 6.
