Movie

Hunnam is on board to portray British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett in the flick, which production is set to be kicked off in summer.

AceShowbiz - "The Lost City of Z" has found Charlie Hunnam as the best replacement for Benedict Cumberbatch. The English actor has been cast to topline the true-life drama flick, which has listed Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller among its cast on board.

An adaptation of David Grann's best-selling book, "The Lost City of Z" will see Hunnam portraying the character of "British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett, who disappeared in 1925 while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Production on the film is slated to be kicked off during the summer of 2015.

Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing the film via Plan B Entertainment, with Marc Butan on hand as executive producer. James Gray has been tapped to direct.

Cumberbatch was initially set to star in "The Lost City of Z", but dropped out of the project since he's been booked to topline Marvel's "Doctor Strange", among his many other film features.
