'Jurassic World' Teases New Dinosaur Indominus Rex
Movie

The movie confirms the new dinosaur's name Indominus Rex, which means 'Fierce or Untamable King', on its website.

AceShowbiz - "Jurassic World" has confirmed the name for its new terrifying dinosaur, Indominus Rex. The movie gives a profile to the character, whose name means "Fierce or Untamable King", on the official site and shares glimpses at the cage and teeth in new photos.

"At first glance, Indominus most closely resembles a T. Rex. But its distinctive head ornamentation and ultra-tough bony osteoderms can be traced from Theropods known as Abeliosaurs," reads the description for the park visitors. "Indominus' horns have been placed above the eye orbit through genetic material hybridized from Carnotaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops and Giganotosaurus."

"Indominus' roar is estimated to reach 140-160db - the same as a 747 taking off and landing. And it can reach speeds of 30 MPH while confined to its enclosure. Come experience Indominus Rex for yourself beginning this summer. If you dare," it adds.

"Jurassic World" is set 22 years after the events in the Steven Spielberg movie. The park is now open for visitors, but the people's fun time turns into nightmare as the genetically-modified dinosaur escapes from its cage and hunts anything that moves. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard play scientists in the park.

Also starring Ty Simpkins, Irrfan Khan and B.D. Wong, the Colin Trevorrow-directed movie is set for release in U.S. theaters on June 12. A new trailer will be released during the Super Bowl XLIX on February 1.
