Calling it 'a crazy idea,' 'Jump Street' co-director Phil Lord says the proposed crossover is still possible.

AceShowbiz - Back in December, there was a report that Sony planned a crossover between "Jump Street" and "Men in Black" which was revealed following the hacking scandal targeting the company. While it sounded very unlikely, "21 Jump Street" and "22 Jump Street" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller confirmed the idea was indeed tossed around and is still very much on the table.

"Nothing's changed," Lord told MTV News on the Golden Globes red carpet. "It's still a crazy idea, and we only do things that seem like they're going to be terrible." Miller chimed in, "We're developing a lot of things, you know. And they may or may not all happen, but that's how the business works."

Hinting that Jenko (Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) could be seen battling aliens, Lord added, "We're really focussing on what's a great story for Schmidt and Jenko and how to tell the next chapter in their lives. And perhaps use creatures from another world at the same time."

In a leaked email to Sony's co-chairman Amy Pascal, Hill allegedly wrote, "jump street merging with mib i think that's clean and rad and powerful."

Sony has greenlit "23 Jump Street" following the success of "22 Jump Street", which grossed $331.6 million over $50 million budget. Meanwhile, the last "MIB" movie, "Men in Black 3", didn't do as well as the studio had hoped for despite raking in $624 million worldwide, but a Sony executive said "that hasn't caused us to lose faith in the franchise."
