The 'Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson' features a star-studded 'Bang your Drum' performance and Jay Leno as the only guest.

AceShowbiz - "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" let the final curtain down on Friday, December 19. Craig Ferguson opened it with a star-studded segment and closed it with a tribute to some classic TV series finales. "I really feel for people who are tuning in for the first time," he joked of his fairly low-key final episode.

"What I hope we've done is maybe try," he said. " 'art' is a very grand word, but what I think I was trying to do here, and think we managed to do here, is make something that wasn't here before. In that sense, maybe it is a piece of art. And you will be able to find it forever on YouTube. What I meant to say was CBS's web site." He jokingly added, "Really, this show belongs to you. And I hope you keep it - because I'm done with it."

The host sang "Bang Your Drum" along with Kevin Bacon, Steve Carell, Kat Dennings, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jon Hamm, Matthew McConaughey, William Shatner, and Samuel L. Jackson. He later sat down for a chat with the only guest Jay Leno.

"I'm not retiring," Ferguson said. "I'm not stopping doing it, I'm stopping doing this." Without going into details, he hinted that he was pursuing a show at an earlier timeslot. "I can't be a member of club that I didn't really want to join," he said, referring to the feuds between hosts in latenight biz. Leno applauded him for avoiding "the latenight talk show snippy club." Leno said, "It's fun being a comedian again instead of a talk show host."

The "Late Late Show" will continue with James Corden as the new host.
