The 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' star will reportedly play a motion capture character and a traditional live-action one.

AceShowbiz - Andy Serkis's role in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" may have been revealed. In addition to narrating the teaser trailer, the Caesar of the new "Planet of the Apes" franchise is reportedly tapped to play two roles in the upcoming seventh installment of the "Star Wars" series.

According to Jedi News, one of Serkis' roles is motion capture based. Along with parkour expect Pip Anderson and actress Crystal Clarke, the actor is expected to help bring to life a "group of unbelievably athletic and acrobatic motion capture characters."

The other role is a traditional live-action character. It's reportedly pivotal "in the first act story arc that entwines with Daisy Ridley's backstory" and that role "may have more to it than it seems in the first instance."

Directed by J.J. Abrams, the film will hit theaters in the U.S. on December 18, 2015. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher are back as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia respectively. They are joined by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and more.
