Words are, the writers have to change the script after the Clara depicter asked to remain on the show for the first half of the new season.

AceShowbiz - The upcoming "Doctor Who" Christmas episode won't be a swan song for Clara Oswald. Following rumors that Jenna-Louise Coleman would leave the show after the holiday special, it's now reported that she has reversed decision to quit the series after the said outing.

The actress, who has played the Doctor's companion for two years, reportedly asked if she could stay for the first half of the new season and the show's bosses have agreed. They are said to have been thrilled by Coleman's decision, but no official word has been released by the show or the actress' camp.

Following Coleman's decision, the writers have to change the script. Her character Clara would become old and die with the Doctor at her side in the original draft of the script. "When it came to Clara, they had to tear them up and start again," a source tells U.K.'s Mirror.

The "Doctor Who" Christmas episode will air this December. According to the episode description, "The Doctor and Clara face their last Christmas. Trapped on an Arctic base, under attack from terrifying creatures, who are you going to call? Santa Claus!"
