The 65-year-old famed restaurateur, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease earlier this year, was found in a Manhattan diner after being missing for more than 12 hours.

AceShowbiz - Former model and famed restaurateur Barbara Smith a.k.a. B Smith was found safe on Wednesday, November 26 in a Manhattan diner after being reported to be missing for over 12 hours. Smith, who was traveling on a jitney from New York City to the Hamptons on Tuesday, failed to show up at the destination. Her family then reported her to be missing.

"She left the city on the Ambassador Jitney at 4:30 yesterday," her husband Dan Gasby said. He and their daughter were worried after she failed to show up in Sag Harbor and tracked down the driver who told them a confused passenger got off in Southampton.

WABC reports that Smith's daughter found her at the La Parisienne Coffee House at 7th Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, not far from her former apartment. Apparently, she got off at the wrong stop and decided to go back to New York.

The 65-year-old Smith, who became one of the first African-American models to appear on the cover of Mademoiselle, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease earlier this year. However, her husband said she never walked away or got lost before.

"I think the future's going to be fine," she said following her diagnosis back then. "I'm going to do my best to make it work out for me and for as many people that I can possibly help, too."
