James Cameron: Three 'Avatar' Sequels Will Be 'Bitchin' '
Movie

Proud of his work, the director said that fans of the 2009 epic movie would be blown away by the upcoming films.

AceShowbiz - James Cameron is raving about the three planned "Avatar" sequels. The director promised that the new films would be "bitchin'."

"I can tell you one thing about them," Cameron told Empire Magazine. "They're gonna be bitchin'. You will s**t yourself with your mouth wide open." He also said that the films would be shot at 48 fps instead of 60 frames-per-second frame rate.

Cameron hired Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Shane Salerno to write the three upcoming "Avatar" films. He wrote 1,500 pages of notes to be used by the writers as the basis of the scripts so that the writing team felt like they were adapting "a novel or series of novels."

The team "sat in the writing room for five months, eight hours a day, and we worked out every beat of the story across all three films so it all connects as one, sort of, three film saga. And I didn't tell them which one was going to be there's individually to write until the last day. So everyone was equally invested, story wise, in all three films," Cameron previously described the writing process.

"Avatar 2" will be released in theaters December 1, 2016 while the other two are scheduled to bow in December 2017 and 2018, respectively.
