The 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' helmer won't return to his post behind the lens when the production for 'Blade Runner' sequel starts in 2015.

AceShowbiz - Ridley Scott is expected to give up the directing seat to another director for "Blade Runner 2". Variety mentions in its article, "Per Scott, that Alcon Entertainment production should go before the cameras within the next year, but with someone else directing."

Scott, however, will still be involved in the project as a producer. "We talked at length about what it could be, and came up with a pretty strong three-act storyline, and it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one," the director teased.

There are rumblings that Harrison Ford will reprise his role as bounty hunter Rick Deckard, and Scott confirms the actor will be back for the sequel. "Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him; he comes in in the third act," he said.

Scott is also developing a sequel to "Prometheus", a loose prequel to his classic "Alien".
