The 'Let It Go' singer opens up about her current relationship with her former best friend and fellow Disney star, saying they are like 'acquaintances.'

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato addressed the status of her relationship with Miley Cyrus in a radio interview on Boston's "The TJ Show" on Monday, November 24. When a fan asked her if she's still friends with Miley, Demi awkwardly replied, "Umm, yeah... that. We're like, acquaintances."

The fan said she was curious because she hadn't seen Demi and Miley together recently. The 22-year-old songstress then explained, "Yeah, it's life and people change. And you, know, I don't have anything in common with [Miley] anymore, and I wish her all the best."

A source told E! Online of the reason behind Demi and Miley's fallout. "Miley is a wild card and Demi has made a point of not surrounding herself with people [who loved to party]," the source claimed, "Demi's sobriety is very important to her. Demi tries to be reserved in public and cares very much about how she is perceived."

The source went on to share a recent encounter between Miley and Demi. "About six months ago at a small gathering, both Miley and Demi were there," the source said, "They were in the same room for a only a few moments, and it was super-awkward, very girly high-school, pretending to ignore each other. They didn't speak, they didn't even make eye contact."

In an interview with Fox 31's "Everyday" in October 2013, Demi defended Miley's controversial image change. "Miley has been one of my best friends growing up and so I'm happy for her," she said, "She's doing what she wants to do and this is her time to break out and figure out, you know, what she wants to do in her career and her image and everything... I'm happy seeing her happy because I love her so much. And, you know, she doesn't care what people think, nor should she."
