While she talks about the state of the music industry, the veteran singer says young singers like the former Nickelodeon star are using their sexy appearances to sell their records.

AceShowbiz - Bette Midler is clearly not a fan of Ariana Grande. The veteran singer had some pretty harsh words for the former Nickelodeon star as she discussed the state of the music business in a new interview with U.K.'s The Telegraph.
Not only did Midler take aim at Grande's vocals, but she also complained about the 21-year-old singer's too sexy appearance. "It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous," Midler said.
"I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know who's telling her to do it. I wish they'd stop. But it's not my business, I'm not her mother. Or her manager," she continued and added that people from Grande's management team were probably the ones who wanted her to bare her skin to sell records. "Maybe tell them that's what you've got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold."
Midler then shared some advice for aspiring singers out there, telling them to "trust your talent. You don't have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don't."
