The Peter Prentice depicter won't be a series regular anymore starting in early 2015, but he may still appear as a guest star.

AceShowbiz - "The Mindy Project" may need to find a new doctor. Adam Pally, who stars as gynecologist Peter Prentice on the FOX sitcom, will no longer be a series regular starting in early 2015. According to TVLine, his contract as series regular ends with season 3's 13th episode.

However, it doesn't necessarily mean that fans will never see him on the show anymore. A rep for NBC has assured that the former "Happy Endings" actor may make occasional appearances as guest star if his schedule permits.

"Fans will see him in episodes this spring. It's been reported that he has an ABC pilot," the NBC/Universal rep tells Zap2it, adding, "He will continue in episodes on 'Mindy' as a guest star as long as his schedule allows for it."

Pally joined "Mindy" at the beginning of season 2 for a recurring role but was quickly upgraded to series regular later in the season. He recently inked a deal with ABC Studios to create, write and produce projects through his own production company, Clone Wolf Productions.
