The 8-page comic focuses on Dr. Mann's arrival at the icy planet and his moral deterioration.

AceShowbiz - There's a wide universe in "Interstellar" that could make a good story. Director Christopher Nolan has decided to tell a prequel story focusing on the adventure of Dr. Mann, the character played by Matt Damon in the sci-fi movie. Nolan teamed up with award-winning comic book artist Sean Gordon Murphy to create a comic debuted on Wired Magazine.
[SPOILER ALERT!] In the film, Mann is one of the 12 brave scientists who are sent by NASA on a mission to find a new planet that can sustain human life. He sends positive signal from his planet in the hope of seeing another human being again and getting rescued altogether.
In the comic, readers see Mann in his barren planet which is looking grimmer as he analyzes the terrains. Through his conversations with the robot KIPP, Mann reveals his desperation and moral degradation as he sends favorable but fake datas to Earth. "That would do it. That's the good news they're looking for," he says.
Illustration is done by Murphy, with Matt Hollingsworth as colorist and Tana Ford as letterer. The 8-page comic, titled "Absolute Zero", can be read on Wired.com. Nolan also serves as the guest editor for the December issue of the magazine, which hits the newsstands on November 25.
The creation of the comic is considered an odd move from Nolan who said that he had no intention of releasing the deleted scenes from the movie. "Interstellar" is in theaters now.
